December 9, 2019 //  by Spalding Concrete Company

Specifications:

  • Removal of Pre-Existing Concrete
  • Ensure Water Flows Away from Garage
  • 2″ Application of Hot-Mix Asphalt (Fully Compacted)

Description:

  1. Demolish and removed existing concrete
  2. Stabilize and grade sub-base (clay)
  3. Add and grade base (gravel)
  4. Apply hot-mix asphalt
  5. Haul away any remaining garbage materials

Challenges:

Demolition and removal of existing materials around a garage, or any building for that matter, can be a challenge for any experienced team. Our team utilized not only our experience, but our specialized equipment to make this tall task seem effortless. We were able to demolish and remove the pre existing asphalt around the customer’s garage without any damage to the building, both inside and out. We then graded the existing sub-grade (clay) to ensure the water flows away from the garage. This allowed us a stable sub-base for our gravel application. Once the gravel was applied over the sub-grade, we ensured that there was an appropriate amount of fall away from the garage to ensure water would flow properly. This base was then compacted with a roller to ensure stability for the asphalt application. The asphalt was then applied. Our team used all of our resources available to ensure a clean and quality application. We finished the job by loading all of the garbage concrete, as well as, any of our remaining materials from the job site.
