Challenges:
Rain can provide a challenge to any construction company, asphalt is no different. The rain becomes most difficult to work with when the areas we are working in have become saturated and soft. Our expert asphalt and grading crew found this to be one of the biggest hurdles to leap on this particular driveway. Our grade crew found the issue while removing vegetation and grading the sub-grade in the new edition area. With an expert eye, and a tier 4 size skid steer, our grade crew was able to remove all soft areas and grade the sub-grade. This was followed by the addition of gravel to the area, as well as where needed through out the driveway. The gravel was then graded and water flow was ensured, we moved on to the resurface aspect of this project. Once the resurface areas were cleaned and sterilized, we had another hurdle to leap; the tie-in to the garage. Our experienced and professional team used this as an opportunity to remove compromised concrete areas near the garage. This allowed us to grade the area to ensure a perfect tie-in, and also provided and opportunity to ensure a good base for the asphalt. Once the resurfaced areas were prepared and sterilized, we applied a hot-tar asphalt bonding agent to the resurface area. We then applied the hot-mix asphalt to all areas, ensuring precision in both our spreader and rollers. This ensured the asphalt is laid even and to grade, as well as being compacted to specifications. Our team remained professional even after the sun set and ensured the quality of the asphalt being laid was not degraded. The finish left us with yet another satisfied customer.
